130 Crew cab
Wondering if anyone knows if there is any change or changes from the start of the Defender 6 speeds, (2007?)till now - the latest models about to arrive in Oz?
(Wondering about a deal on a new but superseeded model, or should one look at the latest?). Confused

On the very newest ones I think you can option ABS/Traction control whereas before it was not available on a 130. Regards

Thanks gents, it is difficult to get much info. I have many questions that I will put in at a later date - some issues I was told with fitting an extra fuel tank, Mantec RAI's in OZ? etc.

Thanks Grockle, I do go on there and need to hone my skills around the site. (e.g. concentrate on the Defender area more closely).
In particular, 130 crew cabs, it is almost impossible to get a look at one, (plenty of 110s) and there are things I want to find out - like can you fit the spare under the tray, as most seem to have them mounted on the tray itself - ok if you don't want to put a camper body on the back, or does the fuel tank get in the way? I actually have only seen one new 130 crew cab very briefly on a trip and didn't get the chance to clamber over it. All very frustrating! Rolling Eyes I will probably take a 110 for a drive and pretend about what's behind! NSW dealers don't appear to have a 130 on display - the only ones I have seen on the net are in Perth (many 1000's of kilometres away).

France 2008 Defender 130 Puma 2.4 HCPU Zermatt Silver
Hi pbob
As you can see i own a 130 although LHD, if there are any pics you need let me know and i'll try to send you them. There is no way you could get the spare under the vehicle unless your talking about an aussie flat bed,in that case i don't know. Also i doubt that land rover will make one with ABS ant traction control,i was told that the fully loaded weight was to much for their ABS system. 130 crew cab

Parktag,
Thanks for your help. yes the idea is to have a flatbed (we call them tabletops or traybacks), so as to fit a camper body on it. The tray will be about 6 feet long (1900mm) approx and there might be enough room to fit the spare under that, as long as it doesn't affect exit levels. Interesting about the ABS, I will check this out. The interesting thing is that because there are not many sales of crewcabs, most of the salesmen have much idea as to what is or is not available. Incidently, I have found an auxillary fuel tank available through "Opposite Lock" but there was talk about some problems with the flow setup in the new models.

Hi, I had a 130 DC HCPU (300 tdi) when I was over in WA , as mentioned you wont get a spare under the HCPU back , and if you go to locally sourced trayback, to fit spare under the bed will be extremely high , esp if you thinking along the lines of putting a demountable camper on there. The HCPU bed is high enough as is.
I had one spare on bonnet , that option no longer available to you . The answer might be a couple of roof bars over front portion of double cab infront of demountable and put spare up there, or fit swingaway onto rear of camper if its strong enough ? . HTSH
