Extra tax Shocked but seriously what a Joke you can't use a TDi or early TD5 but yet a 4 litre V8 is fine Rolling with laughter My parents live just inside the LEZ, I was lucky the 1999 TD5 I have was a Station wagon or I would have to had sold it.

Put a 6.2 ali chev out of a Monaro in it. It will be reliable and use no more fuel than a Rover V8.

England 1989 Defender 90 V8 Petrol SW Auto Java Black
I got a brand new crate engine and box, Ls1 5.7v8 350bhp in mine with th400 box and b&M shifter... readily available for about £1500 second hand on ebay or recon... very solid engine and a bit more poke than a rover?

Waste of time with the Rover lump, as someone has said already you need to fit a proper Chev all alloy engine. Andy.

What about a cheap 4.6 Thor engine and have the liners replaced by Turners? Would it be a straight swap then??

Steve,, Have a nice 3.9, with 4.0 internals etc (Top hat, X Bolted, decent cam etc,,) sat here
Just need a 4.0 Crank for it ?? which was knackered due to a fuelling issue !!! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I wonder can that be mega squirted for waterproofing???
