Steering rattle

Ive just returned from the Newbury show ground and found this noise, I think to be fair it's been there a while but noticed it more today. As I was travelling slowly over rutted ground for a long ish distance, the steering column appears to rattle?, it's all tight meaning there's no wobble when I try moving the wheel side to side when stationary but yet this noise is only there when going over ruts???
