Problem???
Put my foot on the clutch to change down a gear, I got a loud ish whining gear sound it engaged I lifted my foot and it started breaking on the engine did this the rest of the way home, not far, checked underneath for leaks but none, went out for test bout 30 mins later still warm couldn't make it do it, on way to work smornin it happend again, it seems to be when it's in gear with clutch peddle fully to the floor? please help? 90 Puma HT

57 plate 65000 it seems to change gear ok if the clutch peddle is compressed about 85%! Doesn't make a sound then!? 90 Puma HT

Hat are the symptoms of the friction plate breaking down? I've looked on most clutch related things but can't seem to find anything with symptoms then like a pic of a friction plate with spring hangin out? 90 Puma HT

didn't get a D3 then?

dual mass and or clutch issue. Had the same thing in my VW van a few years ago

Get it to a dealer and see if theres a arrenty claim to be had?

Na kept the truck, they don't have dual mass mate, I'm guna take the box out next week, warrantys out pretty sure it's the friction plate!! New clutch from land rover is £422 though!! Robbin Censored  90 Puma HT

Are you sure about the dual mass? the clutch and cover plate isn't that dear http://www.paddockspares.com/parts-and-acc...-puma.html

That's not genuine though is it? It's hot n/a by the oem bit? Think I'm better off slapping a proper one in really 90 Puma HT
