There are some pretty inspiring people on c4 at the moment (no not David Cameron) puts my bad neck into perspective really.

Yes there are some inspirational people there.

Now why can't the Queen actually SMILE? Now it is not like that the opening ceremony is a solemn serious ceremony but is one of celebration and joyfulness.

At least she is watching what is happening this time rather than examining her fingernails!

When is Prince Harry on? Perhaps that's why the Queen looks so happy - nervous anticipation!

It would be interesting to know what percentage of these athletes were disabled from birth, disabled due to an accident or disabled due to war (ok that might include some disabled at birth, i.e. birth defects due to things like agent orange)

Yes I realise these games evolved out of injured servicemen at Stoke Mandeville hospital

I thought the volleyball was a clever idea - if you have to sit down on the floor to play, it doesn't make much difference how many legs (or parts thereof) you do or don't have Thumbs Up Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
