WHY ?
Most mornings when driving to work, pidgeons seem to have a death wish - sitting in the road and waiting for me to drive along... why ? I guess it sorts the gene pool, but there must be a reason why they do this.

Any ideas ?

Because they like the color pattern of your ICE. Makes them think you are one of them. Laughing

Myself they see as a big nasty black bird heading toward them. They can't get away fast enough. Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

years ago i had this problem down a road near me, sometimes i hit more than one at a time.

the road is now much busier so no birds but a 'bird' expert said that the sewers running under the road actually made the road surface slightly warmer which the birds liked. Mind you this was about 2-3 miles in the country from the nearest town/village so make your own mind up. BM52

Commonly looking for grit which they need to aid digestion, same reason you sometimes see pheasant poults gathering along the roadside. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]
