Luckily I did a lot of research on this forum Thumbs Up and made sure there is little or no contact (contact area is critical). I also sealed any areas water could get in (hopefully) and smothered everything with Duralac.
The sills are from Entreq and fit very well and the plastic washers they provide also help to insulate. They also keep the carpet dry which, in turn, keeps the water off the sills.

With a bit of luck they won't rot any faster than everything else Laughing

p.s I thought long ago that ss bolts are probably a baaad idea (now confirmed). Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
