This is very true Although AC reduces mpg while on, I find the Defender's invaluable as the ventilation flaps are gone. It is good to have on whwn the windows are shut to keep out flies, pollen, & farmyard stench. Also great for demisting windows quickly.

Is it possible to have AC fitted later on TDCi Defenders, as was the case with TD5s.
can't see why not...new parts will break the bank but give it a few years and they'll be nciking them all over to break Big Cry

I have found no difference in MPG with the aircon working...
