New 110 incoming next month, and I'd like to swap the Station Wagon sides for Utility sides.
Mine are Orkney Grey - I am happy to remove and refit your sides if you're not happy doing the spanner work. My sides are brand new....! Link not working for your build. Interested as I'm doing a Utility build too.
Try Land Rover Salvage in Shropshire. |

Great to see you back in the landrover fold Si! Hope you're well mate...
The link works fine, but there are access rights that affect the forum that it links too... it's the build of Si's old 110 anyway. Ross The Scotia Winch Challenge |

Hi chaps - thanks for the welcome back!
I was after a 90 but the deal of a lifetime has presented itself and I'm taking delivery of a Puma 110 next week. It needs an IVA test as it was a development / test mule for a LR franchise and is unlikely to have a CoC when it arrives - I'm hoping that with Utility sides it'll sneak into the lower tax band. I'm thinking of doing the very same thing to my CSW

You wouldn't have thought so - although I think the resale market for SW sides is pretty limited.
The easiest thing would be to have some ali sheet folded and bonded onto the existing sides, and then painted (windows out first, of course!) I want to be able to swap it back to a CSW, and storing the CSW panels wrapped in the loft should be fine

Don't suppose the Series 88" hard top sides fit the Puma? Certainly was the cheap way of doing this on previous CSW models.

88" sides should fit, but finding a set in a 'nice enough' condition maybe a challenge ...

...tried 88 sides on the last build - they are the correct length but covered in cold rivets - would look odd on a Puma.
Thanks for the suggestion though - might have to find out the new price ![]() 110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |

Or buy some 110 hard top sides and get your local bodyshop(not the soapy type!) to shorten them, like I did years ago as then they were only available through Special Vehicles. If you also contact some of the ex utility company land rover sellers, they may have some blanking plates which means removing rear windows and fitting these panels into the hole.
Personally dont go for cheaper tax route as a station wagon is a passenger carrying vehicle. If you read details on this from the tax office, they say that if the vehicle was originally a pcv then it cannot be classed as a van, hence why land Rover spent money getting the Utility110 through as a specific vehicle. The first ones were not put in this category as the classification hadnt been granted before the launch |
