TD5 EGR Solenoids
Do you disconnect the wiring to the vacuum solenoid when you blank the EGR off? Does the ECU know and will it run differently when its disconnected?

Its a 2003 EU3 model by the way.

The wires are to the vacuum solenoids which controls the supply of the vacuum to the actual EGR valve on the inlet manifold.

Sure ive read somewhere to disconnect the wires after removing the EGR, just not sure! lol

Just replace the egr with a egr kit pipe and blank or join the vacuum pipes at the egr end Thumbs Up

Thats the plan but to remove the pipes that arent needed.

Was just told that then ECU will fuel the engine different if the wires are disconnected, just trying to find out if thats true or not and if its for the better or not?

The electrical connections to the EGR solenoids can be disconnected and the solenoids removed completely. The ECU doesn't seem to fuel it differently and mine has been running just fine. I can recommend the IRB Developments/Bell Autos EGR removal kit - they provide a proper replacement vacuum pipe rather than just bunging up the existing pipes. The brake servo depends upon that so it's best not to bodge the job. Dave
