SVX Tail Turn Indicators Position
Hi SVX Owners!

I just wanted to find out which lights are the indicators on the rear of you cars.

On mine, it's the inboard of the two lower light fittings. The reason I ask, is this seems backwards to other Defenders.

Can you confirm which is which on your cars?

Dave

On the SVX the indicators are in a different position to normal, land rover originally were going to use all LED rear lights hence the one in the press photos having all LED's but they could not get them to work or something, so they used a normal bulb for the indicators. As the normal bulb light fitting looks different to the LED ones used for stop/tail and reverse/fog they moved the position of the indicator and swapped it with reverse/fog position so the different looking units were not all jumbled up.

At the end of the day you are right the indicator is not in the right position, if you want you can now swap the normal bulb indicator to LED but you must swap the front indicator bulb to LED (can put one in original housing) and get a special LED flasher relay (to stay legal get one that has a warning if a unit stops working, not that an LED will as often as a normal bulb)

Then you can put them back in the correct positions.

There is a technical bulletin out about LED lights. Actually relates to trailer boards but it mentions that the fix (not yet available) will address the use of LED lights on the main vehicle.

Can't remember the specifics (might try and dig it out later) but it might have been to do with the ECU. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
