There are two vehicles that I most regret selling and the TR 110 I sold you, Tim, was one of them Big Cry

And still use off road after that Matt,, must be at least 6 years ago

I must say I really do like the Tomb Raider models - I remember the first time I ever saw one, it was in Bradford when I was about 19-20 years old. Landrover seem to have made a few nice limited editions at that time, the 50th anniversary and the "heritage" versions especially. There is a TR 90 in my town which I see quite often. I'd quite like one...

my other half is trying to get me to swap my TR110 for a 90... she thinks the 110 is too big

I'd only be swapping for a mint one like this! Looks fantastic

I joined the Tomb Raider owners club just before I bought mine, but it's dead over there Sad

Having had both a 110 and 90 TR until recently I'd say stick with the 110 as it isn't that much more of a handfull to drive / park but has a lot more usable space plus five forward facing seats. Thumbs Up John

Sent from my phone as I'm currently walking for a week on Snowdonia (so sorry for any spelling/ not quoting).

I love my 90 and can't see me selling it, but I have to agree with JSG. The combined seats/storage in the 90 is quite frustrating (just ask the two guys who sat in the back for 7hours with all four rucksacks, tents etc on the way down!!).

My choice for 'another' LR would be a 110 USW, the optimum setup in my opinion... But as JSG said, I would stick as you are.

I'm on TTR as well (Alex), but as you said it was a bit dead and there is a wealth of knowledge here.

Well finally sorted some sound deadening this week...

The loadspace had Silentcoat (that will be covered by the Tomb Raider Chequer Plate floor.

And the seat boxes had the same applied (before/after). If you PM me an email address I've got a video of the noise difference it makes!!).
The central lid (under the cubby box had a foil faced version due to the heat produced in that area

The seat boxes and Driver (and passenger) footwells then got a 12mm thick layer of fireproof acoustic foam.
Its exactly the same as Dynamat but only cost £19.00 for 2 sqm!!
Speak to Paul at http://www.classicacoustics.co.uk/ - He's very knowledgeable and helpful!

Following his advice, the matting goes high up behind the dash. I also recessed circles around all the bolts/fixings to allow removal of the dash/bulthead with out removing the foam matting Thumbs Up .

The transmission tunnel also had a layer of the foil faced fireproof foam, although this required some fine tuning with a craft knife to keep the curve!

With just this done (so far Wink ) the noise level (using just a free iPhone app) has reduced!! Shocked
This test was done under the same conditions before and after... The reductions are shown below...

Engine on, stationary Reduction : 8db
30mph in 3rd Reduction : 14db
50mph in 5th Reduction : 9db
70mph in 5th Reduction : 5db

At 70mph the wind noise is now the main cause but a conversation is now possible! and I haven't fitted any under the bonnet, so was surprised that the stationary test showed such a reduction... shows how important going up behind the dash was (!) although I was cursing the suggestion at the time Rolling with laughter
