ciderdrinker, I think I may have a used but good Defender MSB ecu I removed from my own car in the office I can sell you if it helps. I could of course swap your coding over from your existing one to the new one as part of the deal.

ok ive just fitted a replacment ecu msb000080 plugged it in and she now wont start!! Big Cry

sould replacing the ecu be a straight forward swap or is there some electrical jiggery pokery thats needed to be done aswel or have i just got a dodgy ecu!

next question. why is nothing ever straight forward??!!!!!!!!

Hi Will

At a guess I would say the ECU will need something done to recognise everything, or at least the immobiliser.

I am sure an expert will be along soon.

I have not forgotten the seats, 90 has been delayed at the health farm but should be back this week Thumbs Up

That's why pete and Gary offered there services the injectors will need programming to the ecu so you will have to use bas or alive really to get it sorted

my throttle is "responsive "too onm my 2001 td5 110, i have always suspected the MAF is at fault but never gotten round to checking it, i do have it in mind to get a remap and guess it will show when that happens

i just drive foot full on or off Twisted Evil it negates a bad throttle response!! Mr. Green Mr. Green

At low revs in my Jan 1999 TD5 (Std Tune) I find mine is lurchy unless extra revs are applied, certainly in slow moving traffic its a bit lurchy. I will post my ECU part number tomorrow.
Maybe a remap will smooth things out (its on the list) 1999 Defender TD5 110

It needs a Security Learn to the alarm ECU with T4 or similar. Injector coding can be done later on.

Cheers for the advice I had the security learn done today! Took the guy less than 20 seconds must have been the easiest £40 he earnt today! Totally different machine to drive now much easier on the rough stuff!! Although Feels like it has less power but i think that might be the fact i now have to use the whole travel of the throttle pedal? Next job to order a new injector loom (if I can get an answer at alive!!!) and get the injector codes. 90 td5 csw
