Any one looking for a held held marine VHF radio.
I have here an SX-Micro 90 handheld, its a few years old but turns on ok and RX/Tx ok. (You'll need a licence for this as you know) CE marked 1995 , serial number 5449 made in japan. The aerial needs replacing (see picture) as the outer rubber casing has gone brittle, although it still works. Its a standard fitting I believe, s I have the box and charger somewhere (can't lay hands on it at the moment but will find if someone is interested in it). The unit has had very little use, so its unmarked. It scans, has memory, hilo transmit etc, but very basic and easy to use. Comes with a waterproof bag. I believe that's correct, not required to buy, but you need to take a short course and pass the exam to get an operators license (although I wouldn't think you'd need to if only listening in) I did mine as an adult education course (one day iirc)
Quick update - box, charger and instructions discovered, battery currently on charge and looks like its taking and holding charge nicely. Radio was posted earlier today, recorded delivery. Had an idea for the aerial - find a small rubber cap, cover whole lot in heat shrink tubing and viola, rubber duck fixed. Would have done that but had already packed it up for the post.
