Best primer for aluminium ?
I've decided I don't like the aluminium chequerplate cappings on my bumperettes so I'm going to paint them black like the rest of the bumperettes. I suspect that you can't just paint over them or use normal metal primer. Can anyone advise on the most suitable primer ? Thanks

Zinc Chromate primer - Should be available from any decent Auto body shop factors. Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.

Most bumperettes are powdercoated. Am not sure how etch primer will react with powder coating or if paint will adhere well to them.

It might be an idea to remove the CP capping prior to the painting and refixing them afterwards.

Just a thought.
