Painting light gaurds
Hi,

Has anyone stripped & repainted their light guards?

Mine have started to split & peel in places. I though I'd have a go at stripping & repainting them.

Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on good paint to use?

Cheers

How about getting them acid stripped and powder coated? The finish would last a lot longer than paint. If I was to paint them I would probably use POR-15, as I use it on other parts of the Puma and it has lasted well. Thumbs Up

Good idea!

I hadn't thought about that. I'll have a look around and see if there is a company near me.

If you are going to powder coat them, then try to round off any square edges.

Powder coating does not like sharp square edges.

Cheers Guys,

I'll have a look at the plasticote.

Found a couple of companies near me that powder coat so I'll give them a ring and see what the damage is.

Cheers for advice Brendan 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver

I got some ruberised black spray paint from Halfords, sprayed with that, which was matt, then over the top with normal gloss black spray paint. Look loads better now.
