The first one is from 2008 but I've been watching 'Spooks' recently and when I heard about the typhoon, my first thought was that it sounded like an MI5 cover story Laughing Darren

So it is Embarassed . I only saw it because it appeared in the list of most popular stories being read. Didn't even look at the date. Ah well I had fun guessing for a while. Rich

The typhoon nearly makes as much noise as a Vulcan. Superb piece of kit. I like to see my tax being spent on something so loud.

Wish I could see properly and was clever because would be my dream job. Getting a shout over the radio to break everyone's windows in the midlands. Good job we upgraded our windows to typhoon proof.

Didn't see the Typhoons but we certainly heard the sonic boom.

Thought another section of the cast iron gutter had fallen off and I was going to spend the weekend up the ladder again Rolling with laughter

even more off topic but between 8 - 10 years ago the company I work for used to hold seasonal roadshows at Bruntingthorpe where a Vulcan was being slowly restored. There was always two old retired RAF chappies collecting basically loose change from course attendees to help fund the project.
When I saw the exact same magnificent aircraft at the Windermere Airshow last July there was a lump in my throat. I hope those men lived to see it fly again
