No.2 may have all the kit but at least No.1 has a rear windscreen washer
For what little my opinion counts in all this... I'd buy neither and invest wisely in a superior Td5 (GRENADE!!!!!.....ducks for cover..... meant in jest as always PUMA boys & girls ) All joking aside, part of the fun (I have subequently learnt) is adding bits yourself, so if your hearts set on one of those two, go for No.1 and enjoy sticking some bits on it in due course and you'll have a few quid left in the bank to treat the missus to something to pacify her Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Was almost ready to buy a 2006 TD5 with only 20k on...... but the good lady really didn't like the middle row seats with their lack of headrests and lap belt on the centre one. 1951 80" S1 2.0

No.1
It's cheaper and you can turn it into No.2 (or something different) at your leisure. Plus even though the warranty expires sooner, you can then improve it further with non LR-approved stuff like X-Brake etc. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

#1 - looks to be a nice clean example
#2 - if the kit has been installed properly then it's a better bet IF you are going to use the additional kit ? |

Oops! I guess it just struck me as a nice defender that an accessory catalogue had got sick on Plus if the original owner ever went anywhere challenging enough to need that winch and snorkel I'm a bit surprised not to see at least a decent set of ATs and some underbody protection (although to be fair it could be there and I can't see it) and that he's compromised his ground clearance with those side steps Anyway, JMHO and each to his own - who'd have it any other way? Maybe consider it this way…..
One guy is selling a pretty standard, clean 09 vehicle with 11,000 miles on it for £21,250. He makes no mention of any VAT to be added, so I will assume this is the take-away price. The other guy is selling a year newer 10 vehicle with 7,200 miles on it for £22,500 + VAT = £27,000 Whilst the specs are similar, the cold climate pack on the standard vehicle (heated seats and windscreen) is a worthwhile addition. I think the mileages are so low on both that they are nearly equivalent. The justification for the higher price of the second vehicle is that its a year younger and has £6500 worth of gear fitted to it. I would absolutely take this value with a pinch of salt. Maybe that is what was paid, but just because they are LR accessories fitted by a dealer doesn't necessarily make them a good buy. There is a world of difference between a dealer technician 'bolting-on' some accessories chosen from the LR parts book and a serious prep company working their magic on a vehicle. If you were to research the parts for yourself, you probably wouldn't choose Land Rover's winch bumper. You might install some real rock-sliders in place of the side-steps and you might avoid the LR light-guards in favour of some stronger, less rust prone ones. However your choices ran, if you were to actually use this vehicle offroad, you would want to consider tyre choice and some underbody protection and if you were going to make regular use of the winch, you probably would consider an after-market battery in place of the standard battery Having said all that, I don't know what your intended use for the vehicle is and I am not as knowledgeable as the other guys on here regarding second hand values of nearly new vehicles and the deals available from new. My point is, though, that if you don't need offroad gear, then the first one seems to be a better buy. If you do need even a moderate offroad prep, then you would be making modifications to either vehicle and might prefer to save your budget for better considered mods. regards Ian |

Cold Climate pack comes as standard fitment on XS spec, so both cars would have this as standard. Richard Either a 90, 110 or 130. Discovery 5 |
