Painting
So I'm starting to think about painting the truck, no rush, probably in the summer. I'm lucky as my brother-in-law is a truck sprayer buy trade, so he will do the technical bits. I just need to buy the paint and help sand down.

Question 1, how much 2PACK paint is needed to cover the whole exterior of a 90 hardtop?

Question 2, I'm looking at Tangiers Orange (I like to be different!), but maybe white, where is the best place to buy? Rough idea on cost too.

Thanks,

Sam! Good things come to the wild and free

no idea about the paint but I did see the TV programme "the petrol age" this week which had a bit on land rover,

in it there was some defenders no a reccie I think that where mainly white but with bits of orange, sounds odd but they looked GREAT,

I would have thought your Brother in law would be the best guy to advise you, especially if he is the one who is going to paint the Defender for you.

Different manufacturers systems have different application methods, so the system he is most familiar will be best. Professional automotive paint is extremely expensive, so you need to get it right first time.

Especially if you are choosing white ( White is a very forgiving colour), consider 1 pack, it will be much cheaper. Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.

A metallic white or especially pearlecent white would be nice! Just not solid otherwise it'll be like a van Confused

Cheers lads, looking at enamel as another option.

It's as much about function as form. Enamel paint seems tough, and is easier to "patch up" due to its commercial use it gets quite scratched. Good things come to the wild and free

Scratchy woods and scratchy female co-workers handbags (Last week, and still sore about it, silly girl Evil or Very Mad ) seem to be the worst part!

As much as I like it, it is still more a tool than a toy at the moment! Good things come to the wild and free
