Waterproof cases
I found 3D Flight Cases great for this type of plastic cases, they not only sell Peli but some of the cheaper versions such as Storm & SKB and they will beat any price found in the UK

Hi. Are those dimensions the minimum you can get away with? I have a couple of lockable storage boxes with handles in my garage that are surplus but the depth is 170mm - otherwise what you're after.

I'm not too far away - work in Sheffield, live just over the border in North Notts. so if you want to have a quick look, you're more than welcome then, if they suit, take 'em away.

Thanks for the replies everyone Thumbs Up

I ended up buying a High Impact Case from Maplin which does the job nicely.

It doesnt claim to be dust/waterproof but I cant imagine how any would get in as it has a rubber seal running arount the lid.

I could go and chuck it in the bath and report back? Laughing

And it comes filled with foam, some of it pick-n-pluck Thumbs Up

I have a tool box that I carry on the roof rack when on our summer trips. Now in this I carry full spanner roll, gas solering iron, poprivit gun, fuses, socket set, pliers and elec tester and most stuff to get out of trouble should I need it. However I got caught i a rain storm the year before last and by the time I got back some of the tools had got rust on as it leaked. I have seen water/dust proof tool boxes but all are just a little too tall for what I want.

I bought one of these on ebay thinking that it was perfect for what I wanted but a day later the seller sent me a message saying he had run out and did not know when he would get them back in.

He only has the slightly smaller size available and he was kind enough to offer me one of those for half price but it was not big enough for what I wanted. I have asked him to let me know if and when he gets some more.
Failing that i might go for a milatry alloy ammop box.

Of course if anyone here has any ideas let me know but I'd like the height to be below 200mm (ish)

Try http://www.plastor.co.uk/

On a recent trip we had 6 of their smaller boxes storing kit in the back and two large ones on the roof. Not waterproof like the ones your showing but very cheap and perfect for what we needed. The lids on these where loose but can have them hinged as an option.

The Plastor ones are standard Euro size boxes,

Boy would probably recognise them in Nato Green I have a few that were in a skip atfer the local TA unit moved out and they hae been perfect for throwing all our gear in. 2002 Defender 110 DC

hey,

maybe you know the "zarges" and "alu-tec" aluminum boxes. I use them for years, the price is okay and they're very resistant.
