Unfortunately the mod I carried out is only useful if you remove the rear of the DC cab to allow the seat backs to recline. When we converted J-Lo from a DC to an 'estate' we were able to do this.

This is the only pic I can find showing the position of the seats, basically the same as a SW.

Okay, I guess there was a reason why they went to the effort of changing the position for the double cabs. Crying or Very sad

J-Lo is looking great though mate Laughing Thumbs Up

The bulkhead is the reason.

yep! I have unbloted mine and they rattle a little...

Do you have any pics on how you modified the hinges on the seats ? I'd like to do that...On long journeys the DC back seats are very uncofortable for those with long legs... Regards

... Sad there are still some 10/15cm to the back of the cab that the seats could recline...thought that might do some diference... Regards

Hi,

I know this thread has been idle for a while. I recently converted my puma DCPU to a SW and without the rear window panel longer in place, I can now modify the middle row seats to recline further. So, I thought I share some pics in case some of you are still interested with the mod.

As it turns out, You just need to remove 4 bushings installed in the hinges to recline the seats further. But you'll need to first remove the seat covers and cushion foam to have access to the hinge assembly. Once hinge plate removed, the bushing can be easily slided off.

My middle row seats now reclines further (though not significantly more) but the difference is huge in terms of comfort!

This is good news for me for when I do the mods to my new 130, thanks for posting pics. They have clearly changed the seat design. The "bushings" on the earlier seats were welded.

Derek - that's really interesting stuff, thanks for sharing.

From the photos the two bushes look slightly different - one appears to have a metal insert, is that correct?

Yup, that's right. Its a rubber insert on one side and metal on the other from each seat.

Derek, are you able to repost the pictures? I can't get them. Mine's a 110SW and looking to do the same.

They are great. My sw don't have the back metal behind the seats. Mine is in the XS trim so centre mesh and half leather, your seats looks much better in fact.

Don't mind me asking, it seems that what you are doing is remove the bush, which prevents metal to metal contact. So you are making use of that 1cm or so allowance. Does it rattle? Also there is no modification to the mechanism at all in this case.

Never looked at this yet but I'll do it once I get 110

We've done a few of the transits at work with the fixed twin front seats

Just added a 10mm spacer and longer bolts to the front mounting
Surely must be easiest option ?
