Kärcher Chassis Cleaner
This new Kärcher pressure wash attachment is advertised on page 19 of LRM this month. Does anybody have any experience with it and is it worth to buy for the purpose of cleaning a Defender underside and especially remove road salt and grime? Would you recommend it, or is it not up to doing the job?
Below is the link to the item as offered by amazon.co.uk

Haven't tried that particular one, but have got one of these : http://www.kaerchershop-schreiber.de/image...-245.0.jpg which is brilliant. you wouldn't believe the amount of cr*p that comes out with it. even better when used with some sort of cleaner. AutoGlym PowerMax 4 is good for this kind of usage.

The depth of the chassis rails on a Defender would surely mean it wouldn't reach the highest parts, let alone all the other nooks and crannies? Also, the video on Amazon shows it being used on what looks to be an essentially clean car. What happens when big lumps of mud drop on it and block the jets up? Darren

That was the first thought I had when I saw it in LRM a couple of weeks ago. It'll be another one of those things that seems like a good idea at the time that ends up on eBay.

The Karcher one is very good. Shoots a powerful spinny jet right up under the car. It may not be as good as crawling under there and getting covered in muck and water, I don't know. But at least the underside would get done more frequently so I think they're worth the money.

I have two Kärcher (pronounced "Care<phlegm>yerr" - not "Carcher" as on the advert) pressure washers since 4 years and they are excellent. Never get blocked even when stuck down drains, hosing chicken sh*t etc. Also good for removing loose render from external walls - rental property Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

there used to be a garage in Geneva that has a hot pressure washing system that did top / sides and under the car ... you drove up, parked and it all happened around you .. ask Philippe
