Tyre Dent
Looking at the defender today and the rear tyre has what could only be described as a dent in it - not major, but if i was to describe it its a line, like when you open a door into a door - but on the tyre...it is only minor

That said its on 2 of them and i cant put a reason on it - there is no bulge, scuffing around it or anything else. And since i last cleaned it (when it wasnt there) there has been 0 off roading, not curbs, pot holes or anything else except motorway driving.

I plan to bring it up with the dealer on Tuesday when it goes in - expecting one of the following:
- Its something ive done (dont know what)
- Its nothing
- They all do it
- Not covered under warranty - you need 2 new tyres.

Wondered what you guys think about it...as im a little anal over tyres and safety. Also your comments on warranty cover if the tyre is defective. Mike

Have had similar,, a door on door, is a good way of describing it, About 4" long across the sidewall ??

They will say, will have to be sent back to grabber, as they are responsible for a tyre warranty, if any !! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Still the grabbers

Yes you got it - thanks (just bad news)

Frustratingly i had planned to replace with BFG ats in the future - just not now, when car insurance and tax x3 has to be paid

let see what they say. What did they do with yours? Mike

Thats promising...maybe ill wait

The 90 hardly gets a hard life - which makes it shocking for these new tyres with only 8k on them

I guessed i would end up needing 2...i cant bring myself to keep the grabbers (although getting just 2 would be helpful)

So its either Goodyear AT's or BFG AT's Mike

I've noticed dents like what you describe on new tyres I had on another car and thought it might just be from storage. Never affected the performance of the tyre though. They were across the sidewall in a couple of places and looked like the tyre might have been stored flat at the bottom of a stack on a palette with a bar or plank of wood trapped underneath. 2007 Defender 110
