I missed to down my antenna and car washing machine did its job and broke it.
Could you suggest me an smart replacement? I dont like original one. Maybe a ham radio type would be a good idea. Any ideas? Thanks. |

The shorter rubber ones are always on German eBay:

so would i ! recomended brands would be good as when i bought my 90 it had no radio fitted and i (foolishly ) got a standard issue radio/cd and fitted a rubber ariel and shall we say its a bit lacking on the sensitivity front  i can SOMETIMES get radio 2 and usually but not always get a local station .
This is next on the list for an upgrade though not sure if its the radio or the ariel ! ALL THE BEST GLYN |

I bought mine for a bit of fun, so I will also be interested to see how it works (or doesn't) before I do anything permanent

Naket... Nakate... Nakatangne... yeah well ...sells a flexible rubber variant. Reception-wise it's not super duper but definitely better than the original IMHO.

The Nak. one isn't so expensive - 15 Euros is cheaper than the one I got of Fleabay.

How's the whip for FM reception compared to the LR one? Do you know where could I order one from? Finally got some decent snow to play in back home in Bavaria - trouble is I'm stuck in Suffolk until the weekend

Some of those VW 'Bee sting' type ones have a bespoke powered antenna amplifier hidden behind the headlining, which seems to make a lot of difference. As these are short and therefore, only quarter-wave antennas they need it to provide good all-round performance, especially in weak signal areas. I'm not sure your average after-market 'rubber duck' has this add-on. Pete |

It is a 5' stinger cb whip, with a converter thing, that I have put behind the clocks. I got it all from 4x4 cb, it will never snap, has an amazing range, could probably get sausage fm in the uk if ou are missing it  , and I have cut mine so that it is 20mm higher than my roof tent, so works well as height gauge, roof tent protector.
