I reckon it's probably just legal - as I understand it, as long as the tread itself is inside a vertical line from the bodywork it's ok.

Although to be quite honest can't see many traffic police stopping someone and checking that. More likely having lunch sat in their bmw or gaylander round here playing with ANPR Whistle

the worst one i have ever seen has a range rover rear bumper attached to the cross member with a spoiler aswell Big Cry
