Hi there, you mention in the Big Green spec that you had it waxoyl'd - did you have that done in West Yorkshire? Did they do a good job (i.e. would you go back there again....)? Any ideas on cost?

Many thanks and best wishes with the build (my gf lives in Normy so will look out for you Thumbs Up )

Regards

Hi Craig, yeah, I had it done at JR Classics.

http://www.jrclassics.co.uk/

Did a good job on it. It's all elbow grease, he doesnt blast them with anything, just a wire brush, all manual. Whether that's a good thing or not I dont know. He was black bright though when I came to pick it up.

Have some pictures I asked him to take whilst he was going the job.

Made a nice tidy job on the crossmember, corrosion on the doors and treated behind the door panels.

Even went back for a free topup a year after. Rear crossmember like new again and did a few other touch ups.

Did flake after a while though near the back. Maybe that's what it does anyway, always needs retreating but I'm not a Waxoyl Expert. Certainly smartened it up visually anyway.

I'll dig out the pictures, can't log into my photobucket account. Anyway, I had it on a seasonal special offer for like £250 iirc.

Yeah, look out for me and "giz a wave"

Was billy no mates in the Discovery 3 Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Didn't answer your question, I probably would if I didn't have a galvanised chassis on the new truck. Can't grumble with an annual touch up "oo er missus" and was a lot cheaper than other big rustproof services.

Like I say, the way it flaked at the back, I'm not sure if that's natural or not. Kept well at the front but the back did flake a bit....

Depends on how much you're prepared to spend. I was happy with the JR classics job.

Would I prefer go to "Before n after" over them if I wanted to part with that sort of cash, yes.

Happy with JR though.

Well, "BIG GREEN" *my previous land rover, pictured on Page 1* is going up for sale! I'd have bought it back but obviously still excited about the new "Ice cube" IRB project.

Was a cracking 90 and if anyone's interested PM Thumbs Up
