i've been made redundant several times, twice it hurt financially, twice i got Censored jobs to tide me over until i could get a better job.

Crack on with a positive outlook and keep looking for those opportunites. best of luck and glad you have found something to keep you 'afloat'. Thumbs Up BM52

Although I didn't get made redundant my contract was fulfilled so I moved on. It took a long time to get the job I'm in now. Long hours but good pay. I went from managing 20 blokes to doing a Censored labourers job, passing tools, carrying tool boxes.
It paid the bills in the short term, just my hobbies of LR and cigars took a backstep forthat period. But now I'm back on my feet I'm happy Thumbs Up 110 D250 SE HT

For the last 5 years I've been spending much of the summer working outside as an archaeologist in T-shirt sleeves, so I've ended up with very white shoulders and brown arms! Not a good look when a girl wants to dress up (not that I do that often, but you know, it's the principle of the thing!)

Anyway, I'm under a redundancy notice myself at the moment. My employer is looking to make me an offer of an alternative post within the next couple of weeks but I'll have to weigh up all the pros and cons. One pro would be not getting the tanned arms (as it will be an office job), but the con of that is I'll miss the sunshine!

These courses wind me up to be honest, i feel for the people who take them as they are conned by the course providers, an electrician takes years of work to achive, as does most trades.

I did an apprentiship on crap pay for 4 years, then worked up the ladder to become an engineer only after starting a 5 year part time degree course in electrical engineering. So all in all, ive been studying for 9 years in whole and im only 33!

I wish you good luck, but aim low, as with no experience your a very high risk to take on, as competance has to be proven, not paid for.
