Fatally flawed... Laughing Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

BMW aint all that. Expensive to service, and the 1 series is like being inside a pillbox the windscreen is so narrow. The 123d has loads of oomph, Evo mag just did a test against original M3 and it couldn't shake it. BUT, the 123d is not the popular one as TJ pointed out.

I'm look at the Skoda Octavia Vrs or Volvo V50. We have the Vrs at work and they have proved to be pretty reliable under a lot of extra work - no worse than the BMW's we have on fleet. If budget is shrinking, I'd be tempted by the Jag XK 2.2d. It's a Mondeo underneath but a nice place to be if you do the miles.

I'd love to try a Jag XF, but they are still holding their value at the minute.

Should have said PB,, a good friend has just dumped £12k in 10 months on a used ex Jag XF, dealer had it longer than he did due to the DPF !!! In the end he swapped it in for a poverty spec RR Sport !! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Don't you mean the 2.2d x type not Xk?

My father drives an xf and loves it he's had no problem at all, he just only wishes he ordered one with xenon head lighs as the standards are like a glow worm in a bucket. His is the 3.0d the same in the disco's and it really does go like &£? Of a shovel. I speak from experience Whistle Russell

Strange,, friends was also the 3.0 V6,, I had no problem with that lump in a D4 and Sport, But his XF was terrible,, OK it lived in Torquay, and every other week the DPF light came on, 50 percent of the time he could regenerate it, the rest,it was a recovery job back to the dealer, had a whole host of stuff fitted to sort ! When it was good, was good, when bad, Very bad !!! From memory paid 32K+ for it, supplying dealer offered 22k to have the thing back, 10 months later, California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I really like the Audi A3s, we had a Q5 in CH and liked it but not in a defender sort of way...

I found a beaut. A3 2.0 tdi, flappy paddles, red, xenons, leds, 21k miles but the dealer was not keen on a 15 month old fiesta with 33k, so no deal on the ford. An A3 is next on my list but I'm going to run the fiesta for 1 more year. it will be 2 years old, have 70k and be worth £4-5k ? I will have had my monies worth out of it.

What the economy like on the 1.6 tdi ?
