After crashing my Td5 yesterday, today I thought I would console myself by fixing a few things and enhancing the interior.
The drivers heated seat had not worked since I got it. A quick test with the multi meter showed 12v coming out of the connector from the seat box, but no continuity between the black and yellow that passes through the seat back heater ( the grey is the earth pass through). So I unclipped the seat back cover and exposed the heater pad. On this the yellow and the black go to a small round silver thing that I think is a thermocouple of some sort. Anyway, it was open circuit, so I bypassed it. Now there is continuity throughout. I was worried that it would overheat and burn my arse, but after several miles today it just got nice and warm, my thoughts are to leave it like it is now, if it gets too hot I can always turn it off. I also fitted some Trakkers seat covers, and a new load space mat. Just waiting for the new bumper and grill to arrive now. ![]() 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |
