Does anyone have any ideas please?
We just did a 625mile round trip to Edinburgh, four of us in 110 XS USW. The heating in general is fab, too hot, but the foot well in the rear seating area was freezing. As you obviously all know the hot air cannot get there. Knees upwards were fine, but freezing feet! Any ideas/modifications that could help?? W8 http://www.cheshireoakstructures.co.uk |

Somebody will no doubt be along soon to suggest a Webasto airtop or similar, but a cheap and relatively easy solution could be a 12v fan heater fixed to the back of the cubby box. Something like THIS maybe?
A more involved solution could be to take a flexible duct from the existing heater system and route it to the back. It would need some thought to prevent it looking too Heath Robinson though. underfloor heating? like the mats they use for the mirrors but a bigger bit. insulate the floor plates then stick a heater mat on top. carpet on top of that?

i use a 10 quid 12v ceramic heater in the back.

yep, in fact I have 2 of them in the back of the 90. I use bench seats not those awkward forward facing ones. Very handy for the school run.

Boy - I tried one of the heaters last year - was taking longer to scrape the ice off the inside than the outside.
Pretty useless for that purpose -MIGHT be ok for space heating the back. As for the windscreen - do what I did - heated windscreen - no ice & no fogged up windscreen either. Just need to get heated side windows now..... 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey |

to be fair never have a problem with windows being iced in the puma, the heated screen+ blowers never fail.
The mirror's however.... |

I have an inverter fitted in my truck and a 120w 240v tubular heater attached to the seat legs of the 2nd row seats, the boys seem to be OK with it and I can plug it into the mains overnight to take the edge off the cold. Haven't had a frost yet to give it a proper test to see if it can keep the windows frost free
