I like the look of the who's door leather cards, but would prefer to keep the plastic lower half as less damageable, and easily cleanable. Can you also therefore do half door linings?

Cheapest way is to the increase vehicle weight evenly I.e. ballast. OP didn't say what Defender. My ride is better carrying sandbags etc. Also lowers centre of gravity.
