| Our 300Tdi certainly has an EGR valve. They stopped making the 300Tdi around 1998/99 if I recall correctly, so your 2004 truck should have a Td5 engine ? |

I unplugged the EGR valve on my 1996 300Tdi Defender about 20 years ago. So far no check engine light, or any ill effects whatsoever.
This could be because the 300Tdi does not have a check engine ... |
