Just changed my 02 Td5 clutch at 166k.
The clutch was ok but had to change the dual mass flywheel so made sense to change the clutch as well. |

There is no advantage to using the alternator it was just the easiest location for me to take power.

It takes all the current for the lights so if the contacts are poor it can overheat.

Yes a good mod and definitely worth doing whilst you are changing the calipers anyway as it is low cost.
