Yesterday I had another "dull clunk" after quite a while. Just to mention: It occurred after driving on a dirt track with diff-lock engaged and about 4km on tarmac heading home.

shaggydog, thanks for lifting my spirits  with "dry" I meant the parts where all the grease was leaking to. The swivel itself is still nicely lubricated. |
