In 2012 I've tested 5...7 Pumas. They have been 4...6 yrs old.

From my memory: 50% okay // 50% did smoke, only whiteish - it depended on mileage ...

That's right. A4/B5 is high SAPS - C1 is low SAPS.

A high SAPS oil causes more soot i.e. shorter life cycles for the DPF.
A low SAPS is worthwile for your DPF.

I have experienced problems although I suppose the retailer used the correct oil as listed on invoice.
Car has been towed to retailer. Juli.

I have a 62 plate Defender.

You can have your service book stamped anyway if you still have one.

I also stretched my service periods but limited this to a few weeks or so.
