Rumors are indicating that ECU/10AS are paired at any time i.e. even if functions are disabled.

I'd therefore guess a defective modul - either ECU or 10AS.
 2.2tdci won't start - immobiliser issue?

If you access with your EKA code you can use the Defender anyway.

I presume you're gonna get a new ECU.

not sure how insurers work in your country, but if you disable a safety feature on the vehicle, they may refuse a claim in case of an accident.

I hope not since my Land Rover came without ABS/TC.

Unburnt diesel.
Could be the injectors or the injector seals.
Have read that in a German forum before.
Copper seals for injectors cost about £10 each.
Much luck.
