| I recently swapped mine out and replaced it with a 13 pin euro one located in the cut out of the rear cross member, was shocked to see the state of the connections inside the old 7 pin socket. |

Your standard LR speakers/fitting holes are basically small, so the BASS is always going to be poor, the SUB is to boost that frequency range. not really any need to get more technical than that.
