Thanks, I think the original seal has perished and it apparently has an inner metal insert to hold shape, this is still present with original rubber. Looks like the original seal and it’s a 1989 90 ...

So rear prop off and flange.

The pinion seal came off in about 100 pieces and not all is out. It seems there is an inner metal ring that the seal is wedged between and the outer case.

As insurance is compulsory, surely it should be offered by the government and only cover costs - not make a profit?

The only legal requirement is for 3rd party.

Cannot see the image but a connector of 14a won’t work with a 500w light ~40a)

Are you sure the rating of the light is correct? What Defender do you have, some only have 45 or 65 amp alternator, ...

Thanks, I think I am going to go with just three carling switches for now, horn, rear floods and front floods, which are all wired up with random switches.
