Just a thought - the nuts and bolts on a Defender can be standard hexagonal or in some cases Bi-hex (12 point).

The bolts holding on the swivel housing are 14mm bi-hex. These won't accept a socke ...

Not sure how long you have had the vehicle or when last you did the brakes, but perhaps consider the bolts for the calipers. Whilst they may be OK to remove now, think about when they will be removed ...
