EV Mode & Alternator failure together
EV mode and the alternator on my 23.5MY P400e both failed today. The EV mode had been showing ‘temporarily not available’ for a few days but this morning the engine malfunction message appeared in the app.

The car had a few miles of electric range in it and would drive weirdly. The engine wouldn’t start whatever I did.

Called LR assistance and their laptop showed both failures. Apparently they (the dealer?) will call when they have a loan car for me but they haven’t. Not sure if I harass them or wait. Any advice on what to do welcome. .

Anyhow has anyone else had this problem and are they related do you know?

A bit worrying.

Not sure if they are related or just bad luck. I have experience of the same EV Temporarily Unavailable issue on another LR model it was a heating matrix fault and needed replacing. Matrix failed creating a high electrical load which is one of the scenarios EV mode becomes unavailable. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Had same here - EV temporarily not avalailable fault. Heater matrix faulty and needed replacing, which was carried out under warranty. All good since...
