The jist is, they don’t want to fit unless purchased. I remember it was a real pain last time I got mine fitted.
In the end I bought them from a good place, and got them fitted at D44 of which they had a genuine interest in doing the job and they did a good job and had no problems at all since. Everywhere else pretty much was only interested in where I got the tyres from and how much they were, and when I said. “Where’d you get them from for that price”. 
I thought wouldn’t you like to know. Either way, no actual interest in fitting them despite the fact I was obviously happy to pay for it. Much the same as the writing off a tyre attitude and needs to be a new one every time. I’m aware profits etc, but without a genuine interest there little point. I can only but assume it’s too much work for their liking 4x4 tyres for some places, I had more or less the same attitude from multiple places but equally the area where I did approach was not surprising. 
I would suggest asking a local 4x4 specialist with an interest in the job. Regards mobile fitting, yes it seems so helpful, it appears to be until you go to order it and then often or not sorry, not available in your area. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

Local tyre fitters around me charge £12.50 per tyre including valve and balancing.
What I hate is how companies hide behind Health and Safety. I ould ask the, what they require from a H&S perspective ( risk assessments, product specifications etc) to do the job. It’s just sport to have some fun with them.  Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

I have heard of some mobile tyre fitters being unable to fit and balance 4x4 tyres due to their machines not having the required hubs for large centre bore wheels- of the 4 'static' centres within a few miles of my house only the one that does commercial stuff can balance the Defender wheels.
You never know, it might be a stipulation of their insurers that only tyres that have been supplied by them can be fitted- seems unlikely if they offer repairs though. Best best is an agricultural engineers. Chris |

I cant for the life of me think how its their insurance, but good point. I mean the would wiggle out of it however they could.
Its the Ag people ive just struggled to slot in, i need to go down to my place that does the tractor tyres - a number have mobile vans that seem to be broken!
Exactly - its about £20 for me, but i didnt tell them i wanted the tyres back and obviously TPMS changes the valve. I would prefer them to honest and not try to hide being H&S or ill sign to accept the risk of my tyres! Mobile has been really useful for us in the past...but clearly its impossible. Its an interesting point, how much to do they make fitting a tyre v supplying it. Im still playing and if you think 5 tyres, less than an hour at £20 = £100 i bet not much of that will be cost.
