Why? Who asked for them? I have no sympathy for the driver (and with a Disco with all that crap on it AND a "One Life..." sticker to boot,.you just know that his IQ and and his manhood will be of similar size) but that seems to be a ridiculously over the top emergency response, unless it was a very quiet and boring day in emergency services land! |

Not around here I’m afraid - drivers of said vehicles tend to be Wag’s and Moll’s who might possibly struggle to use the clearly significant capability of their vehicle of choice. I’m only jealous (of the vehicle not the driver) 🤪 |

We have not long come out of the early Disco rutting season, so, where there is one, there is often a mate not far away.

There’s clearly evidence of some form of perception of invincibility and/or indestructibility which as we all know can and does have tragic consequences.
I know the limitations of my vehicle, and more importantly, I know my own limitations as a driver, and I wouldn’t want to put myself or any others at risk. |

Agree, the scary part about flood water is you cannot distinguish between the depth of it from point A to point B.
Yes, you can check the depth at a particular given point, but, if you have for example a car park and a river next to it. You could have 1ft flood water depth in the car park in depth, and then drop straight in the river! And if there is little flow in that particular area, or none, it could be incredibly difficult to tell as well. A particular danger in areas anyone doesn’t know. Streams and tributaries can be just the same, many remarkably deep also. And considering recently people have sadly died in the process of fording an actual river, you’d think that people would bear that in mind and be extra careful. That’s about a mile from me, it notoriously floods, my mate lives the other side of the flood and works in the village where this flood is, a week or so ago he drove into it at 05:00 on his way to work and suddenly realised what a mistake he had made, he couldn’t reverse back so crawled through in first keeping the revs up and it made it through, he has worked there for many years but it truly caught him out that morning  cheers Paul |
