Wipers falling off
Hey everyone, happy new year. Have an issue with my wipers, well passenger one really… it keeps falling off. Have replaced both the arms and the spigot thing that they slide onto but it just keeps happening… this time it didn’t stay on the bonnet, so having to replace the lot… any ideas on how to stop this happening, mods or anything people have done???

I had the same with mine - but fell off during heavy rain on the motorway. Luckily I had the old ones in the back.
Anyways - for me the fix was getting a new splined spigot and using a vice, I pressed in the splined spigot into the wiper arm and all good.

I think the issue is the paint on the inside of the wiper arm where the splined spigot meet, caused the sspigot not to go 'all the way home' and thus allows the arm to fall off. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I got fed up with the same issue and ended up replacing the spline adapters with the later type that has the retaining nut. No more issues.

Cheers guys… I still have the spigot on the end of the wheel box… it’s just the arm and the wiper blade that legged it … @steve_overland on Insta.

That was the issue I had. After pressing the spigot into the arm and then removing, clearing the paint out, I have had no more issues 1999 Defender TD5 110

Ahh yeah, sorry!

I used a cloth between the wiper arm and the vice to stop the paint damage. 1999 Defender TD5 110
