I thought the sae thing. My local dealer, Dick Lovett in Melksham had a massive fire a few years ago caused by a P400e Defender.

I'm sure my mates RR Sport hybrid hasn't helped either.

I fear the propensity of LR products to burn down £20M car parks and destroy 1200+ cars won't help keep insurance premia under control either. Once was bad enough, but twice is ridiculous.

Can’t argue with that BW.

I’d better start saving and/or reducing my wife’s pocket money.

Never paid much more than £300 per year fully comp to date. It did increase at the last renewal by about £30 I think.

I tend to use the comparison sites and have been with a well-known name for a few years - aw yes.

Not looking forward to my renewal next year based on what I am reading!

Well…that’ll teach me…

I have to admit that based on the numerous threads and scare stories, I was anxious about my renewal in February.

I thought I’d share my last 5 years renewal costs:
2019 - £304
2020 - £287
2021 - £281
2022 - £267
2023 - £279

Nothing has changed over those years other than both vehicle and driver getting older and having g more miles on the clock. The past 3 years have been with the same high street name.

So my 2024 renewal?

2024 - £525

Mmmmmm

So I went on compare the dooberie…

Best quote based on same spec/contract:

£318

And would you Adam and Eve it, it’s with my current provider.

Not sure how I feel 😀☹️🤪

I have just renewed my Multi policy with Lancaster.
The premium was £509 and this included 2 Morris Minors both agreed value @£12500 each
Small's 1983 Series 3 agreed value £21,000 and our 2017 2 litre MX5 .
I am pushing 80 and with Small a bit younger , but still a pensioner , I thought
this premium was pretty good.
We do live in a rural location where the last crime was a stolen wheelbarrow and that was in 1983.
So maybe that is why !
