110 TD5 rear spring query
Having read through many posts I remain confused.
What OEM spring sits on the rear of a 2003 110 double cab?
Can I use the same rears as a Station wagon?
My current rear springs are 20 years old and would benefit a change

I’ve also been told by suppliers that DC and SW springs are different and also the same…
Any help appreciated clearing this up

Double Cabs use the heavy duty springs, brown / orange were on my 2003 DC. You can fit SW springs for a slightly nicer ride, I had the HD ones as I was towing a fair weight a lot and would load the back right up.

I fitted purple/brown ones (RKB101111) on my Double Cab and found they gave quite a reasonable ride without a big load in the back.

To be honest, there isn't really a right or wrong. And it all depends what you want to use the vehicle for.

I quite like the Flatdog springs, they also tell you the spring rating: https://www.flatdoguk.com/search.asp?types...amp;super=

Depends what you are doing with it, if you don’t carry a lot of weight or tow I’d go with the CSW springs.

I've got military wolf XD 110 rears in my 110.... they are hard! but my 110 is quite lardy (HD chassis, full cage etc) so it does help to dampen it down a bit, but they're still hard.

I swapped out the standard HD springs on my USW, which will be the same as the ones on your DC, for a set of white/green/green SW springs and the ride is much improved. No more crashing down off speed bumps. It ultimately reduces your load capacity by a few hundred kgs but if you were using that capacity then you wouldn't be looking to change the springs in the first place.

I bought some 1inch lowered rear springs for my 110 van. I carries no weight in the back to speak of ( dog, tool box, camping stuff etc ) and I wanted something to that sits lower at the back, like a station wagon. This was purely for looks. Mine were dual rate springs which I bought from Lucari Solutions. I don't know the make, but they were orange before I painted them. I'm very impressed with the ride and the look.

Sorry to piggy back ride on this thread, but does anyone know why at LRPARTS, it states for RKB500300 (green-green-white): "Doesn't Fit Crew Cab or Pick Up"?

https://www.lrparts.net/rkb500300-defender...wagon.html

I have been looking at softer springs for my crew cab 110, and I am considering fitting these springs.

Edit: I take it there must be a size difference from 2007 onward? Looks like Part RKB101111 specifically fits the crew cab from 2007 onwards (mine is 2003)

^ TR Chassis and axle mounts are the same as the station wagon. Its to do with the weight rating for carrying in the bed.

I put a new pair of Puma double cab springs on my 2003 Double Cab.

Thanks for the valued replies.

I use my DC as a Jack of all trades. Light load, occasional heavy load (but notice the truck sits low at the rear, so wondered if the springs had ‘softened’)
Plus camping and possible roof tent later in the year for a longer loaded trip.

I was trying to find an OEM spring, but not Britpart or original landcover parts.

Cheers
