Seat upgrade
Hi all,

Exmoor trim lead time at 6 weeks at the moment - I know these guys come highly recommended but are there any other options out there that people have used? Looking for retrim kits and new seat heaters and can't stretch to bolting in a completely new seat of ready to go seats.

Got a road trip pending and really want to get them done before I go.

Thanks

Hi,
I have not dealt with them myself, but not everyone rates Exmoor highly. Especially for customer service, 6 weeks delivery possibly being an example of this.

Similarly, I have no experience with OEM developments, but their products look good and prices seem reasonable.

Thanks for the recommendation - spoke to Phil at oem this morning after he responded within 10mins to my email!

Very helpful - retrim kits ordered with heaters and packaged up with a cubby box in a 'deal' - hopefully dispatched today and will be all ok to fit at the weekend!

Will add detail once done!

Cheers

Seats arrived on time from Phil @oem. Followed by a courtesy email from him today to see how the fitting went at the weekend. Seats arrived with seat heaters already fitted so that was a real bonus. Fitted one seat Saturday and one Sunday and it takes some real finger power and patience when tryi to marry up the plastics strips at the base of the backrest. As the 'leather' is new it pays to spend a bit of time gently stretching it. Also the blog on the oem website is useful for when doing the bases. Other tricky bit is knowing if the headrest replacement part should be fully extended prior to fitting the new cover and foam so that it completely fills the void in the new foam. Only real way to tell that I worked out is to reach right up inside the new foam when fitted (gotta have long arms!) and combine this with gently flexing the headrest section to feel if it's adequately home.

Seats are a massive improvement on the collapsed original xs seats they replaced. If my budget was bigger I would have gone for a more expensive seat with a more gripping base but the backrest encloses someone of my size nicely so more than happy. Only down side now is that the rears look a bit tired but going to work on that this week with a deep clean!!!!!

Just got the new matching cubby with higher lid to fit now.

For those considering this type of change I would def recommend OEM - keen to offer help (even A
at the weekend if needed) and deliver as promptly as we all want and not offer a 6 week lead time which even then could not be guaranteed..........

Before and after (without new cubby) below just for Pickles!

Very smart, i'm trying to decide which way to go with my seats at the moment as the drivers side cushion is knackered.

The OEM developments site states that the above retrim kit is only for tdci seats, whats the difference between tdci and tdi front seats as they look the same in the photos?

You 'need' a padded armrest now though...

Funnily enough only talking about the armrests yesterday - assume you mean thrones frommudstuff?

Kit I would give Phil @ oem a call to discuss. I kind of got the feeling that there's more on offer than what the websites shows.......

Before the Puma, the headrest is on a single rectangular-ish post. Pumas have two smaller round posts.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Churchy,

Have you had chance to give the seats a good testing? How do you rate them compared to the puma seats?

So tempted to get these as the money for Recaros can be better put to something else like Nakatanenga Rear Wheel Carrier and a Foxwing!!! not forgetting the Nad Raised Air Intake as well. Mmmmm, who do I give my money to???? I hope SWMBO doesn't read this Sad
