Engine not crank? Check connection on the starter solenoid
Hi! I'm posting this following my adventure getting stuck at a supermarket carpark today Embarassed

Drove to the supermarket no problems, but when wanting to leave after about 90 minutes, no crank at all. All usual dashboard lights come on, but no action at all with the ignition turned to the start position.

Turns out it's the solenoid trigger wire connector getting very loose and no longer making contact with the solenoid terminal. This is the small wire on the starter motor.

It might not be obvious when looking at the connector that it has gone loose internally, especially if the plastic connector shroud is still covering it.

The breakdown assist mechanic gave the connector a good clean and crimp so that it makes a good connection to the solenoid terminal, and it starts good now!

Hopefully this helps someone else out there!

They get loose after a while partly due to heat. As you say a crimp, and tighten it usually does the trick.
