Discreet door edge protection
My driveway is pretty tight, and I can’t open my drivers door the full way and now and again I have been known to “kiss” the wall. So far very little paint damage, but it’s inevitably going to happen. Any thoughts on discreet edge protection? Not the big black rubber things on ‘80s hot hatches, something a bit less obvious.

Any thoughts?

Have you considered putting a bumper on the wall instead?

as per MickD suggestion..

at our previous home in the UK the garage was very slim, we put 1 inch thick foam on plywood
boards and screwed them to the wall where the doors open up.. stopped the door getting dinked yet another pommie bar steward down under

I have. The question would be discreet wall bumpers!! I would prefer this though so that I can leave the car unmolested. Was thinking about a strip of Perspex?

Better to be something non transparent, after a while it’ll just turn green under the Perspex….

Presumably you always park in roughly the same spot? How about a strip of timber horizontally at the right height? “a committee is a group of people who individually can do nothing, but as a group decide nothing can be done.”

I attached a strip of foam I had lying about using self adhesive Velcro but you can buy specific garage wall protectors from Amazon etc for £10-20. WARNING.

I've got some very thin and discrete door protection strips I used on my Spider. I'll see if I can find out where I got them from. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

How about some clear edging, similar to below. Cheap enough to replace when it gets dull.

Yep, always the same place. I did think that if I can’t make it discreet then a nice strip of oiled oak would be second best.

Cheers Dinnu, that looks like a viable option.

I used the black version of that. - My Spider was black. Worked really well.
