LED kit drill new holes??
Hey Friends.

So, I got an led kit and I was all ready to start installing them and I noticed something peculiar. On my 89 Defender, the existing lights (not the headlights) are all mounted to the body via 3 screws, and then 2 screws mount the lens to light base.

All the LED kits I am finding the lights mount with only 2 screws. Before I go drilling holes everywhere I thought I would check to ensure I might have the wrong kit... or this is just standard procedure.

Thank you

As you've found, the earlier ones are different, unfortunately. I think it changed with the introduction of the 300tdi in '94 when they went over to the one piece lamps and Econoseal connectors. Darren

There are plinths available to fit front NAS type lights, but the 2 types I've found have only 2 holes.
Maybe the plinth could be redrilled to match your holes, instead of drilling the body.
Both aluminium and plastic ones available.
