ideally you should weigh it with nothing in it and then loaded plus you.
the winch and bumper should be an easy weight to find. most hd bumpers start 20+kg and the winch can be 35 kg upwards. light load up to 50kg constant load is what i think terrafirma springs are a lot will raise the suspenson by 2 inchs when empty. |

If the springs are too long, Defender sitting too high, you cannot make it lower.

I have the rear springs at the front and the rear. 275 lbs/inch (from my head)
I tried HD springs (3?? lbs/inch) at the rear but my neck didn't like that. I have 3 cm blocks below the spring discs to give me some height. Thanks Roel, I dont think I am ready for 3cm blocks.

I run 90 Hd rears on the front of puma110 Hardtop - RKB101230 Green/yellow/Red.
Sits more or less level, maybe slightly up when loaded, Green and whites on the back. Oh and they are progressive springs. Will sit a bit different (more nose down) on a TD5 as the engine sits further forward than a puma. |

I think once I have done the rear springs I will see how the car sits. I used the blocks to find the right spring rate as I had access to a bunch off secondhand springs. Once I found out that standard rear spring worked for me at all 4 corners I had the plan to buy some longer springs but that was in 2013 and I still didn't come to it.  Roel
