Front springs - which ones?
I have just order RKB500300 Green/White/White for the rear. Just wondering which ones would be good for the front with a winch and winch bumper? 1999 Defender TD5 110

ideally you should weigh it with nothing in it and then loaded plus you.

the winch and bumper should be an easy weight to find. most hd bumpers start 20+kg and the winch can be 35 kg upwards.

light load up to 50kg constant load is what i think terrafirma springs are

a lot will raise the suspenson by 2 inchs when empty.

If the springs are too long, Defender sitting too high, you cannot make it lower.
If the springs are too short, Defender sitting too low, you can add spacers and/or isolators to correct the height. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

I have the rear springs at the front and the rear. 275 lbs/inch (from my head)
I tried HD springs (3?? lbs/inch) at the rear but my neck didn't like that.

I have 3 cm blocks below the spring discs to give me some height.

Thanks Roel, I dont think I am ready for 3cm blocks.

From memory I have yellow/yellow NRC8045 springs on the front.

I run 90 Hd rears on the front of puma110 Hardtop - RKB101230 Green/yellow/Red.

Sits more or less level, maybe slightly up when loaded, Green and whites on the back.

Oh and they are progressive springs.

Will sit a bit different (more nose down) on a TD5 as the engine sits further forward than a puma.

Cheers all.
I think once I have done the rear springs I will see how the car sits.
On http://red90.ca/rovers/springinfo.html I noticed that NRC8044 (white/white) springs have the same rating as NRC8045 (yellow/yellow) but are slightly longer and still dual rate
http://red90.ca/rovers/NRC8044_5.html

Its a confusing world of springs! 1999 Defender TD5 110

I used the blocks to find the right spring rate as I had access to a bunch off secondhand springs.
Once I found out that standard rear spring worked for me at all 4 corners I had the plan to buy some longer springs but that was in 2013 and I still didn't come to it. Laughing Roel
